Hotel Jerome is one of the most iconic luxury wedding venues in Aspen, Colorado — a historic landmark that combines Victorian-era charm with refined modern hospitality. Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement or a grand celebration, this guide walks through everything couples want to know before booking a wedding at Hotel Jerome.

Located at 330 East Main Street in the heart of downtown Aspen, Hotel Jerome was originally built in 1889 during Aspen’s silver mining era. Today, it operates as part of the Auberge Resorts Collection — a curated portfolio of luxury hotels known for exceptional service and design.
The hotel features 93 guest rooms, ranging from boutique entry-level rooms to presidential suites, all with views of Aspen Mountain or the surrounding Rockies. Hotel Jerome can accommodate weddings
ranging from intimate gatherings to celebrations of up to 250 guests, with several distinct event spaces available throughout the property.
Key event spaces include: ·
The Grand Ballroom — Aspen’s only above-ground ballroom at 3,450 square feet, with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing views of the Elk Mountain Range and Red Mountain
The Garden — An outdoor space with market-style lighting and Elk Mountain views, perfect for cocktail hours and ceremonies
The Living Room — A character-rich indoor space featuring antler chandeliers, silk wall coverings, and access to an outdoor courtyard
Bad Harriet — A craft cocktail bar named after the wife of original proprietor Jerome B. Wheeler · The Library — An intimate setting ideal for small ceremonies
J-Bar — Aspen’s iconic historic bar, perfect for cocktail receptions

Hotel Jerome consistently ranks among the most sought-after Aspen wedding venues, and there are good reasons couples return to it year after year. First, the location is unmatched. Set right in downtown Aspen, the hotel allows guests to walk to dining, shopping, and welcome events without needing transportation. For a destination wedding, that ease matters.
Second, the service. Every wedding at Hotel Jerome is assigned a dedicated event manager who collaborates with the couple’s wedding planner from initial booking through the wedding weekend. Custom menu design, in-house catering, and award-winning culinary talent are all included in the experience. Finally, the atmosphere. Hotel Jerome doesn’t feel like a hotel ballroom — it feels like a piece of Aspen’s living history. From the Victorian architecture to the refined western touches, there’s a sense of place here that imported decor simply can’t replicate.

Hotel Jerome is a luxury venue, and pricing reflects that. While exact costs vary based on season, guest count, and customization, here’s a general framework based on publicly available information:
· Weddings start around $14,500 for 50 guests (per Wedding Spot) · Estimated cost per guest typically ranges from $50 to $150 for food and beverage · For weddings of 50 guests or fewer, a flat venue fee includes exclusive use of selected event spaces, custom dining tables and chairs, lounge furniture, glassware, china, silverware, ivory napkins, event setup and breakdown, and screens and room dividers · For larger celebrations (over 50 guests), additional pricing applies and is customized through the venue’s events team · Bartenders and event staffing are available at additional cost · A wedding planner is required for all Hotel Jerome weddings, with planner involvement required at least 3 months prior to the wedding date.
For accurate, up-to-date pricing tailored to your wedding vision, I recommend contacting the Hotel Jerome events team directly.

As a luxury wedding photographer based in Colorado, I’ve had the chance to spend time at Hotel Jerome and observe how it photographs across different times of day and seasons.
A few things stand out: The natural light is exceptional. The Grand Ballroom’s floor-to-ceiling windows let in beautiful, soft light during the day — something you rarely find in mountain hotel venues. Even indoor ceremonies and receptions feel airy and luminous. The character-rich interior spaces hold their own. Whether it’s the J-Bar, the Library, or the Living Room, every room has intentional design — antler details, silk wallpapers, period fixtures — that requires very little additional decor to feel elevated.
As a photographer, this means images feel layered and storied without looking over-styled. The downtown Aspen location opens up portrait possibilities. Just steps outside the hotel, couples can take portraits along Aspen’s iconic streets, near the surrounding mountain backdrops, or even at nearby spots like the gondola for breathtaking elevation portraits. Every season offers something different. Fall delivers golden aspen leaves, winter brings snow-dusted streets and fireplace glows, summer offers long daylight hours and outdoor garden moments, and spring is quietly beautiful with fewer crowds.

If you’re considering Hotel Jerome for your Aspen wedding, here’s what I’d recommend keeping in mind as you plan: ·
Book early. Hotel Jerome is one of the most popular luxury wedding venues in Aspen. For peak seasons (summer, fall foliage, and winter holidays), 12 to 18 months in advance is typical.
Hire an experienced wedding planner. The hotel requires a planner for all weddings, and choosing one familiar with Aspen will save you time and stress.
Plan for altitude. Aspen sits at over 7,900 feet. Build in time for guests to acclimate, and have water available throughout the day.
Build a multi-day weekend. Most Hotel Jerome weddings extend into full wedding weekends with welcome dinners, après-ski events (in winter), and farewell brunches. Lean into this — Aspen rewards couples who use the full weekend.
Choose your photographer thoughtfully. Aspen weddings deserve imagery that captures both the venue’s refined details and the natural beauty surrounding it!
